ItemOptix™: Why software determines RFID success
Why RFID data alone does not produce any benefit – and how software turns readings into concrete tasks, workflows, dashboards and decisions.

Executive summary
RFID creates data. Software creates benefits. This difference determines the success of an RFID project.
A reader can read thousands of tags. But store teams don’t need a tag list. You need clear answers: What is missing from the area? What needs to be refilled? Which order can be picked? Which delivery is wrong? Which items cannot be found? Which product group shows abnormalities?

1. RFID data is raw material
RFID generates events. One day is read. An item is recognized. A location is recorded. This is technically valuable, but operationally not enough.
A store team has little use for raw data. It takes priorities, tasks and decisions.
Not:
- 18,000 tags read
Rather:
- these 12 items are missing from the area
- this order is complete
- this delivery has three deviations
- This group of goods must be checked

Software turns RFID data into useful work.
2. Why Excel and raw lists don’t scale
A pilot may be able to function with manual evaluations. Not a rollout. As soon as many stores, product groups, processes and teams are involved, standardized software is needed.

Not every missing item is equally important. Software must prioritize:
